Trichinella Testing in Pork

Trichinellosis is a disease which can affect both humans and animals caused by nematodes of the Trichinella species and is a reportable disease under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) Health of Animals Act. The Agriculture & Food Laboratory (AFL) at the University of Guelph (Ontario) has been offering Trichinella testing in pork to our clients for decades. We are currently the only non-government laboratory in Canada to offer this service as an accredited test method under our ISO/IEC 17025 SCC Scope of accreditation. Our testing has a quick next day turnaround time and is offered at an affordable price.

Note, this testing is only available for licensed meat processors.
